Escape22 is the High School ministry of Cornerstone Church of Ames. Our desire is for students to know God in a real, personal way. Our name comes from 2 Timothy 2:22 which says, “Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” We recognize that these are formative years where a student’s lifestyle today is charting their course for tomorrow. As a group we want to set a course in pursuit of God and encourage lives lived for His Glory.
We gather every Wednesday night at Cornerstone Church of Ames at 8:00PM in the South Auditorium. When we meet together, we focus on three things: christ-centered worship, biblical teaching, and community. We want to encounter and experience God by worshipping him with music and prayer. We want to learn from God by opening His Word to us and applying it our lives. Finally, we want to live out the commands in the Bible in a community of people who also striving to serve Jesus.
We believe community, accountability and application of God’s word occurs in connection groups. Our connection groups are regionally based and meet throughout the week in students’ or leaders’ homes. For more information on how to join a group contact us at email@example.com.
We believe the natural response of a Christ-follower is to live a life of service and generosity out of gratitude to God. As students grow in faithfulness we want to call them to continue to grow in maturity by serving the church and the people around them and by deepening their roots in the Gospel. Students who are faithful in attending Escape22 and their connection group can continue to grow by applying to be student leader. Student leaders will receive additional discipleship and leadership opportunities to continue growing in their faith, If you are interested in becoming a student leader, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition to our weekly large group and small group gatherings, we have regular events scheduled throughout the year. These events serve to give students more opportunities to grow in maturity and their relationship with God and others. These include retreats, student trips and other connecting events.
