Pine Ridge Spring Break 2019

Each year for Spring Break we take a group of students to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. We partner with Chanku Waste Ranch (means “the Good Road” in Lakota), which is a camp that seeks to care for the Native kids and teenagers on the reservation and gives them a healthy and safe environment to be in. We have been working with them for a number of years and delight in the relationships that we have gotten to build with the staff and the natives that are living there.

For Spring Break, we spend our time doing service projects during the day and hanging out with the teenagers at night! This trip provides us with some sweet opportunities to grow in relationships with people who have grown up in a different culture than our own, and it allows us to serve a group of people who have given up their lives for the sake of spreading the gospel to the Lakota people.

The trip will be from Sunday, March 17th to Friday, March 22nd. The cost of this trip is $400. If you are interested in joining us for this trip, please fill out the application by clicking below! Even if you are unsure, we would encourage you to still apply so that we can walk with you through the process. We can’t wait for a great trip!

Student Leadership Applications

If you are interested in joining Escape22’s Student Leadership team, we would love to have you apply! The Student Leader team is made up of students in e22 who desire to serve the church in either 180, D6 Beliefs, or on the worship/tech team. Additionally, this is a group of students who are seeking a higher level of discipleship and more equipping in areas of leadership both within the church and in the lives of their peers.

Filling out the application does not guarantee that you are on the team, but is the first step in the application process. Once you have filled out the application, you will sign up for a time to be interviewed by a member of staff. Even if you are unsure as to whether or not you should apply, we would encourage you to still fill it out so we can walk with you through the process!

e22: F A L L R E T R E A T || For God So Loved

For God So Loved
The retreat this fall is titled, “For God So Loved.” We are going to be looking at what it means to love people, no matter the circumstances. Specifically we want to look at the ways that Jesus loved people and calls us to love people, even when its “socially unacceptable.” We have Travis Pierce from Cottage Grove Church in Des Moines, Steve Jones from Cornerstone Church in Ames, and Austin Wadlow from Keystone Church in Ankeny coming to teach us how we can best love the people that God has placed in our lives, even when it feels unnatural or hard for us. We will spend the weekend worshipping Jesus, learning from the Bible, playing games, eating Hidden Acres cookies, and getting to know the rest of the e22 family better!

Details
The first 50 people to sign up for the retreat will receive the early bird rate which is $80.00. After that, the retreat price goes up to $90.00. We will meet at the church at 10:00pm on Friday, October 26th and return back to the church at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 28th. We will be staying at Hidden Acres Christian Center in Dayton, Iowa. We would love to have you join us!

Lock-In

Each fall, we have a Lock-In towards the beginning of the school year for the students to come, play ridiculous games, have a middle-of-the-night talent show, watch movies, eat food, and stay up all night! It's always one of the best nights of the year and a lot of memories are made! Because of this, we would encourage students to invite their friends! Check-in will start at 9:00pm on Friday, September 21st and we will send the students home at 8:00am on Saturday, September 22nd. If a student doesn't want to stay the whole night, they will have the option to leave at midnight. However, due to driving laws, if they are there past midnight they will have to stay at the church until the doors are open at 8:00am. Additionally, we will have designated areas for sleeping if a student wants to come and not stay up the whole night. The cost of this event is $10. Please sign up by clicking HERE.
